Anima Gardens in MarrakechDriving in Morocco
Wherever we are in the world we are always irresistibly drawn to the places where nature flourishes; magical gardens, flower-filled meadows, wild open spaces.

Nature provides us with everything we most value in life, inspiration for our projects, materials for the goods we craft, and solace from the deep sadness of the daily news.

Nature is also the key which links our diverse collections; from our new range of botanically inspired Bloom jewellery to the multiplicity of baskets handwoven from locally sourced plant fibres.

On our most recent trip to Morocco, where we were working with our artisan partners to develop new designs, we took a day off to visit the Anima Gardens. In our ancient Mercedes it was a lively drive out of Marrakech following the route to the Ourika Valley, encountering shepherds with their flocks of sheep and goats on the way.

Anima Garden is the creation of Austrian artist Andre Heller and a paradise for plant lovers, filled as it is with palms, cacti, bamboos and flowering shrubs. If you are lucky enough to be visiting Marrakech and need some respite from the intensity of the city, Anima with it's garden cafe, pavilions, sculptures and views of the snow capped Atlas Mountains, is well worth a trip.
